Governing boards don't always have diverse members. Out of the 500 largest businesses in the United States, only 7.9% of the board directors are Black and only 4.1% are Latino. More than 25% of these boards don't have any Black or Latino members. More women, Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color should be on these boards. Their leadership on the boards will better represent our diverse population.
