This story focuses on the needle exchange program in Indiana that successfully reduced the spread of HIV in the rural community. The harm reduction program has contributed to a significant decrease in HIV cases--from 235 people being infected throughout the course of the outbreak, to only one new case. However, it was ordered to be shut down due to concerns of enabling drug use.
