Appalachian Regional Commission

An index-based classification system is used to compare each county in the Region with national averages on unemployment rates, per capita market income, and poverty rates to understand how counties are performing. Users can explore the map by geographic location and economic designation, including distressed, at-risk, transitional, competitive, or attainment.
