The guide is intended primarily for those involved in the process of sharing public health surveillance data for the purpose of improving and protecting public health. This includes public health agencies, ministries of health, NGOs, the private sector, academic institutions, multilateral organizations, publishers, funding bodies and others. The guide provides information to facilitate data sharing and sets out seven principles that address key issues related to data sharing.
