There are changes happening in our healthcare system. The goal is to make health care cost less and get better results. For example, there is a movement to pay for things differently in health care. This would be based on results instead of services provided. Right now, most doctors are paid for each service they provide. This includes patient visits and procedures. This system does not focus on primary care. It instead pushes doctors to keep appointments short so they can see more patients. This results in more emergency care and higher healthcare costs. Changing this to paying a set amount for good patient results could get more focus on primary care. It can also improve the relationship between the doctors and the patient. Other services in healthcare can also change to value good health outcomes.
