Monocacy Basin Stream Monitoring Project
In order to introduce area youth to stream ecology and the natural
world, we partner with the Monocacy Basin Stream Monitoring Project
(MBSMP) within Hood College's Department of Biology. The project
trains area middle and high school teachers water quality monitoring
techniques. Each semester, approximately 400 students monitor tributaries
of the Monocacy River and Catoctin Creek with the support of this
project.
