Earth Day April 21st 2007
At Baker Park from 10am-2pm. Community Commons will be hosting Earth Day activities with our associates from the Schoolyard Habitat Program and the Kids Conservation Club. There will be hand-on demonstrations, videos, valuable information to help care for your house and lawn in a less harmful way. You can check out hybrid cars or a converted diesel that runs on used vegetable oil. Frederick County Landmarks Foundation will have information about their work, including the new program to preserve the county’s remaining barns. The Banner School and Special Olympics Maryland will be sponsoring the first annual Inspiration Walk to support the Special Olympics in Frederick County. Registration begins at 8:00 am; Walk begins at 9:00 am; Post Walk activities until 2:00 pm.
